Palantir founder George DeMet and Senior Architect Larry Garfield will be presenting an Introduction to Drupal, a 4 hour afternoon workshop covering how Drupal works, why Drupal works, and how to make Drupal work for your institution. This will be our second appearance at Museums and the Web following last year's very well-received workshop on Remote Data Integration in Drupal.
Why does Drupal rock for museums?
- It's open source, which means there's no licensing cost, ever.
- There is a ton of documentation and training available, both free and commercially.
- Drupal is battle-tested and enterprise-ready. What better endorsement is there than whitehouse.gov? (Yep, that's a Drupal site.)
What does Drupal rock for museum IT departments?
- Drupal is designed to be extended and built upon in a sustainable, supported fashion.
- Drupal is a flexible application framework as well as a powerful web CMS, enabling integration with a variety of 3rd party systems.
- There are thousands of developers from independents to larger firms that can assist in a Drupal roll-out.
Why should you be at Museums and the Web? Because we'll be talking about all of that and more.
While there are still a few seats available, last year's workshop sold out so be sure to register early! If you want to know more about why museums are shifting to Drupal left and right and how you can as well, we'll see you in Denver.

Is a date set?
This looks like a good talk. Any word on which date during the week of sessions this talk will be? Also, do you know if there is a Drupal-heavy day of the conference?
