Helping our team bring their best selves to their work

Couple looking at a computer together

At Palantir, we believe that the best outcomes are achieved when people are able to create and collaborate in open, diverse, and inclusive environments. To that end, we’re focused on investing in our team and creating an environment where everyone can bring their best selves to their work and make space for others to do so as well. That's why we offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support different people’s working styles and needs.

Our Benefits

Health Insurance

Palantir offers medical, dental and vision insurance coverage for employees, spouses, domestic partners and/or dependent children available through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois. Palantir covers 75 – 85% of the total cost of health benefits. Three plan options are available to choose from, all of which are Blue PPO Plans.

Retirement Plan

We offer a 401(k) and Roth 401(k) plan to help our employees prepare for retirement. Employees direct the investment of their account from a menu of mutual funds including environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) investing options. All deferrals are fully vested at the time of enrollment and Palantir contributes 4% of your salary regardless of how much you contribute.

Paid Time Off and Holidays

New full-time members of the Palantir team are eligible for 15 days of paid time off annually, and the number of days increases with additional years of service. Paid time off can be used for both vacation and sick time. PTO is accrued throughout the year, as well as advanced at the start of the year/ start of employment. Palantir also provides a number of paid holidays, including a holiday break at the end of the year.

Time Shifting

We believe in providing a flexible work environment at Palantir. Team members have the option to shift their working hours rather than use PTO when things pop up that require a need to leave early, start late, attend an appointment, etc.

Professional Development

Team members are encouraged to engage in professional development activities at Palantir. Palantir offers up to 100 hours per year to be used for a variety of professional development opportunities including attending courses, workshops, and conferences as well as writing articles, research, etc. Palantir also offers team members opportunities for free and/or discounted professional certifications and conference registrations, as well as group workshops at team retreats.

Discretionary Budget and Hardware

Each team member has a discretionary budget which can be used to help them to be set up for success at Palantir. Budgets can be allotted for things such as computer hardware accessories, costs associated with professional development, and offsetting costs associated with personal workspaces. In addition, each team member is provided with a company-issued current model MacBook Pro laptop that is refreshed on a three-year cycle and covered by AppleCare+ extended support coverage.

Flexible Spending Account

Palantir offers a pre-tax flexible spending account to set-aside payroll earnings for out-of-pocket medical expenditures, as well as for dependent care expenses.

Paid Short Term Leave

A paid short term leave is available and can be used for certain family and medical reasons such as the care of a newborn or newly adopted child of the employee, care of a family member with a serious health condition, personal medical issues, and COVID-related childcare.

Short & Long Term Disability and Workers Comp

Palantir provides short and long term disability coverage to provide assistance in the event of an employee’s illness or injury.

Life Insurance

Palantir covers $25,000 of life insurance provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois at no cost to the employee.

Employer-Sponsored 529 Plan

A 529 savings plan is available when used for qualified educational distribution. Palantir will match dollar-for-dollar up to the first $2,000 direct-deposited via payroll deductions per employee into Illinois Bright 529 account(s).

Sabbatical

A full-time employee upon completion of every seven years of service is eligible for a one month or the equivalent of twenty business days paid sabbatical.
