Is Palantir.net Related to Palantir Technologies?

No — We are two completely different companies

If you do a search for “Palantir” these days, you’re likely to return a lot of results about Palantir Technologies (NYSE: PLTR), a publicly-traded data analysis company making headlines with recent federal contracts.

We want to be clear: We are not that company. We are Palantir.net — a privately-held, woman-owned consultancy specializing in digital strategy, design, and development services.

We are a completely separate, independent organization, unaffiliated with Palantir Technologies. The only connection between the two companies is our shared use of "Palantir" in our names. We've operated under the Palantir name since 1996 — years before Palantir Technologies existed, and we hold a federal trademark registration for the PALANTIR trademark.

Our government work

Like Palantir Technologies, we do work with government clients, including federal agencies. We're proud of our contributions to modernizing government web platforms and improving public access to vital information. However, we are highly selective about our projects and maintain our own distinct mission and values.

Some other things we think it’s important for people to know about us:

  • We are not involved in any efforts to compile a master list of personal information on Americans
  • We do not work for ICE or any other public or private entity involved in the apprehension, detention and/or deportation of immigrants, refugees, or other foreign nationals
  • We do not supply any software to the Israel Defense Forces.
  • We do not make software to support predictive policing
  • We do not make software to collect or analyze private patient data
  • We do not make software to analyze video footage from military drones

What Palantir means to us

For us, the word “Palantir” stands for interconnectedness, freedom, and openness. We believe that people should have control over how and when their personal data is shared with others.

We also believe that technology companies have a moral responsibility to ensure their work doesn't undermine human rights. We support those asking critical questions about technology's purposes and advocating for greater industry accountability.

We recognize that our name's association with Palantir Technologies may carry different connotations for those unfamiliar with our values. We're proud of our name and have no plans to change it. Instead, we'll continue sharing knowledge and strengthening the human experience through responsible technology.

Let’s work together.
